Log materials on site

The quick phone screen for crews to record what they used, or put back, on each job.

Log materials is a screen made for phones. Crews use it on site to record the materials they take from the truck or the shop, so stock stays right and each job shows its real material cost.

Open it from Create → Log materials, the Log materials button on the Inventory page, or app.fylder.com/inventory/use.

Add it to your home screen

On your phone, open the Log materials page in your browser and use Add to Home Screen from the share or browser menu. You'll get a one-tap shortcut to it.

Log what you used

Pick the job

Choose the job you're working on. Active and completed jobs are listed, with the ones scheduled closest to now first. If it's not for a job, such as shop use, choose No job (shop or general use).

Find the material

Search by name or SKU and tap the item.

Choose Used or Returned

Used takes the amount out of stock. Returned puts it back, for example the rest of a roll you didn't need.

Enter the amount

Tap a quick amount, such as ¼, ½ or 1 roll, or 5, 10 or 25 feet, or use the stepper. Amounts follow how the item is tracked, so a quarter-roll item goes up in quarter rolls.

Add a note (optional) and save

Note the circuit, room or reason, then select the button at the bottom. It spells out what you're logging, such as Log ¾ roll used, so you can check before you tap.

Where it shows up

  • The item's stock goes down (or up, for a return), and the change appears in its History with your name.
  • The job page lists the materials used and their cost.
  • The project's Materials used figure includes it.

Mistakes

Logged too much? Log a Returned entry for the difference, with a note. The history keeps both entries, so nothing is lost.
