Jobs

Schedule visits, assign them to your crew, complete them and get them invoiced.

A job is a visit to do the work. A small job might be one visit. A bigger project might have several: one for rough-in, one for finishing, and so on.

Create a job

You can create a job in several ways:

  • Convert to job on an approved quote. The quote's line items come across.
  • Add visit on a project, or Schedule the first visit from the pipeline strip.
  • Create → Job for one-off work.
  • New job on a client's page.

Then fill in:

FieldNotes
ClientWho the work is for.
ProjectThe project this visit belongs to. It must be for the same client.
TitleA short name, such as "Install panel".
InstructionsWhat the crew needs to know: access, scope, materials.
Start and EndWhen the visit happens. Leave them blank to schedule it later.
Assign toThe team member doing the work. Only people with a Fylder login can be assigned a job.
Line itemsThe work and materials for this visit, from your catalog.

Select Create job.

Extra work on a project

Line items you add to a visit that weren't on the approved quote are added to the project's final invoice, marked with the visit number. Lines that came from the quote aren't billed twice.

Do the work

  1. The job appears on the Schedule and on Home under Today's appointments.
  2. On site, crews can log the materials they use against the job. The job page shows the materials used and what they cost.
  3. When the work is finished, open the job and select Mark complete.

Completed by mistake? Select Reopen to make it active again.

Invoice the job

On a completed job, select Create invoice.

  • A job on a project goes to the project's final invoice, which covers the contract and every visit.
  • A job without a project gets its own draft invoice with the job's line items, and the job is marked Invoiced.

Job tabs

TabShows
ActiveJobs that are scheduled or in progress
Requires invoicingCompleted jobs that haven't been invoiced yet
Action requiredActive jobs whose scheduled time has passed without being marked complete
UnscheduledActive jobs with no start time

Keep Action required empty

A job in Action required usually just needs to be marked complete, or rescheduled. Checking this tab at the end of each day keeps invoicing on time.

Archive or restore

Select Archive on a job you won't do. Open it and select Restore to bring it back. An invoiced job can only be archived.
