Requests
Capture incoming work, book an assessment visit, and turn the request into a quote.
A request (also called an RFQ, a request for quote) is the first record of new work: a phone call, a web form, an email. Logging requests means nothing falls through the cracks, and the client and scope carry over to the quote.
Create a request
- Select Create → Request.
- Choose the client. If they're new, add them first.
- Give the request a title, such as "Spring cleanup" or "Panel upgrade".
- Add the details: what the client needs.
- Optionally set:
- Source: phone, online form, email and so on
- Preferred date: when the client would like the work done
- Assessment visit: when you'll go and look at the job
- Select Create request.
Assessment visits
If you need to see the site before you can price the work, set an assessment visit time. The request moves to Assessment scheduled.
After the visit, open the request and select Mark assessment complete. The request is now ready for a quote.
Overdue requests
A request whose assessment time has passed without being marked complete shows under the Overdue tab, and on the Home dashboard.
Turn a request into a quote
Open the request and select Convert to quote. A new quote opens with the client and request already filled in. When you save the quote, the request is marked Converted.
The pipeline strip on the request links to its quote, and later to the project, visits and invoice.
Request tabs
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| New | Requests with no assessment booked yet |
| Needs approval | Assessments that are complete and ready to quote |
| Overdue | Assessments that should have happened already |
| Converted | Requests that became quotes |
| Archived | Requests you've closed without quoting |
Archive or restore
Not going ahead? Select Archive on the request. To bring it back, open it and select Restore. A converted request can't be archived.
